Welcome to the Grolsch Beer Brewery, where craftsmanship and mastery meet! What makes our brewery - next to the N18 and A35 in Enschede - so unique, is that it is home to all our production departments and our headquarters. That close proximity means that all Grolsch employees - regardless of department - work virtually side by side.

Our brewery

We moved into our Enschede brewery in 2004 and use it to brew vast quantities of beer every day, harnessing both 400-year old traditions and state-of-the-art technology. During the construction of the brewery, careful consideration was given to various environmental aspects and optimal integration of the brewery into the immediate surroundings. As a result, the brewery emits virtually no odour or noise. In addition, we use 100% electricity generated by solar panels and wind turbines, as well as 67% green heat from Twence for our processes. The biogas produced in our wastewater treatment plant is upgraded to natural gas quality. In 2025, this enabled us to supply 500 households in Boekelo with renewable gas. Between 2019 and 2025, we reduced the brewery’s CO₂ emissions by 82%.

Grolsch Pilot Brewery

Did you know that we develop each and every new beer in our pilot brewery? This is where the Grolsch Master Brewers put their craftsmanship into practice, experimenting and innovating all day long. Grolsch Master Brewer Marc Janssen: "For years, I worked alongside my father Hennie in the Pilot Brewery. It's no exaggeration that my beer mastery was passed down from father to son. All beers, from Radlers to craft beers, have their origins in the Pilot Brewery, where we can develop, brew and bottle perfect beer on a small scale."

Brewery Tour

The characteristic lager taste, the unique swing-top bottle and the instantly recognisable ads. Grolsch has had an independent, distinctive take on beer for almost four centuries. To discover everything, book a brewery tour. During the tour, you'll learn everything you ever wanted to know about Grolsch. Youths aged 12 to 18 are welcome with an adult companion.

Grolsch shop

The Grolsch brewery is also home to the Grolsch shop, where we sell items that are also available on our website. The Grolsch shop is open from Wednesday to Friday during tours. Of course, you can also shop online.
