Koninklijke Grolsch sets new course for sustainable growth
06 November 2025Koninklijke Grolsch is taking the next step in implementing its renewed strategy, which was presented to all employees in April. This course focuses on further growth in a dynamic market and on strengthening the consumer-oriented approach. The proposed change to the organizational structure is an important step towards realizing this ambition and making the organization more agile and future-proof.
Today, employees were informed about the consequences of this change. The adjustment mainly concerns the commercial and central/support departments. By simplifying the structure and sharpening responsibilities, Grolsch aims to respond more quickly to market developments and seize new opportunities. The reorganization creates new ways of working and room for further growth, but also means that a number of existing positions will disappear.
‘We understand that this is a significant change for our colleagues,’ says Manfred Otten, HR Director at Royal Grolsch. ‘At the same time, it is a necessary step to prepare our organization for the future. We are carefully guiding our employees through this process and looking at redeployment opportunities within the organization wherever possible.’ Because some employees may be able to take on a new role internally, it is not yet possible to determine exactly how many positions will ultimately be lost. The current estimate is that this will affect approximately 20 jobs.
Careful and transparent process
The implementation of the proposed structural change will take place in the coming months. Koninklijke Grolsch is working closely with the Works Council, the FNV trade union and the UWV to ensure that the process is carried out in a careful and transparent manner. With this step, Grolsch is continuing to build a future-oriented, consumer-driven organization that will continue to grow sustainably in a changing market.
